Venice Rain- 2008 Black Edition

A trip to Venice where the sun was most certainly not shining, infact the opposite, torrential rain fell,  rivers of water but mercifully no tourists.  I was seeing Venice as very few do, only the sound of the rain and water cascading from gutters and downpipes when punctuating this, a cheerful whistling and a local guy splashing through the puddles, brolly in hand, obviously enjoying the space.

Shot on film at a decisive moment, this print captures that moment.  The slightly granular structure of the film is evident in the image, an absolutely unique,  unrepeatable and truly analogue moment by Martin Brent

This edition has been carefully converted to monochrome by the artist, the original intention was to shoot in colour but the tonality of the original transparency allows a stunning monochrome version to be made and so is available as a very limited A2edition of only 10 C-Type Matt prints with certificate of authenticity.
