The Snow Trees 2008
After a couple of years experimenting with vintage lenses, Brent shot his ‘Snow Trees’ series on a vintage lens in order to achieve the resolution of today’s glass without the over correction of elaborate coatings. Finally, through a long process of trial and error, he found exactly what he was looking for and settled on a lens that hasn’t been in production for over 50 years.
The Snow Trees captures the moment when the last flakes of snow have fallen, total silence and stillness, a fleeting moment frozen in time here by Martin Brent and available as an edition of 20 A2 giclee prints. The organic nature of the 100% rag Hahnemuhle Photorag paper perfectly compliments these images.
